So, your golf swing needs improvement and you know it? Here are some tips in making better golf swings.

Tip no. 1. A great golf swing does not mean you have to swing with arms.

Behind your back, put your golf club while you turn your back to your target. It is like taking your club back as you hinge your arm at your shoulder.

You could also practice the drill known as no arms.

Tip no. 2. You should not forget cocking wrists.

Do not forget cocking your wrists. This might be difficult at first, but it will be natural to you with enough practice.

Tip no. 3. You should let the left arm clockwise slightly when you start the back swing.

It is not really something that you actually should remember. It naturally happens if you would just allow it. This just means that you should not resist this movement that is just natural. You might not notice it, but you might have been resisting this movement because this causes the head of your golf club to go open slightly when you swing it. Just allow it to happen.

Tip no. 4. Plant your feet firmly on the ground.

You might have copied this from baseball. That is, letting your foot heel in front to come above the ground when you swing your golf club back. Some people think that by doing this so, their back swing feels more huge.

It is something that seems lifting the front heel can easily make the body coil and for the tension to build that much harder. Letting the foot roll freely to the inside is fine. However, one should keep that foot on the ground to make golf back swing well-anchored.

Tip no. 5. From the bottom golf down swing.

Assuming that you accomplish all the drills correctly ? from the golf stance, the golf grip you have, and your golf back swing. But you can still ruin everything if you begin the golf swing that you have with the shoulders. You might want to use a swing trigger to begin the golf down swing that you have with the lower part of your body.

Tip no. 6. And again, on your golf down swing. You should turn the belt buckle to your target.

Try turning your hips as powerful and fast as possible when you do your golf down swing, it works.

Some people that are just starting to play golf think that they only have to copy Tiger Woods or another golf professionals every swing and voila! They will be playing golf just like them!

Don’t you wish it were that easy?

No two people swing their golf clubs the same way. Due to the fact that everyone is different, each person develops their own set of muscles. If you use someone else’s golf methods who has a different build and different muscles, then their golf swing will probably not work for you. Golf is an individual game. You need to find your own way to play golf and then go for it.

It may be a waste of time to completely copy someone else, but a professional can help you learn to overcome your own faults and help to make corrections. Be sure that you hire someone who will work with your swing instead of someone that tries to teach you a completely different swing.

Make sure that your pro is a great golf player. You also don’t want a pro that just stands and watches you swing. You want someone who will show you how to get out of the hazards and some other more difficult shots. Then you will be getting more for your money.

When you play golf and you need to make a shot, decide how you are going to play the shot. Don’t change your swinging method each time you play a bad game of golf. Actually, some of the golf techniques are basic principles and need to be carefully followed. However, it is impossible to make a shot while thinking of numerous other things like how you are standing, where the ball is, keeping your focus, etc.

Here are two tips to help your basic golf game.

Balance is the foundation of playing golf no matter what shot you are making or what club you are using. Balance is a necessity in hitting the ball.

Keeping your eye on the ball is another basic tip. Ensure that your stance lets you see the ball the whole time.

Develop your own golf game gradually that works for you. When you start playing successfully, make sure that you give the beginner who is trying to copy you the above advice!

There are 7 key stages to the golf swing. Popular golf coach, and Director of Coaching at The Sussex Golf Academy, Jerry Newham explains:

Address / Setup
Tilt forward from the hips, keeping the back straight and the chin up. Flex both knees with weight evenly spread between both feet. Arms hang freely under the chin. Active body, passive arms and hands.

Halfway Back
Left arm and hand swing club back on a slight inside path. Right arm folds. This will allow backswing position to be achieved creating width and depth. Shoulders fully turn along the same hip turn. Both knees stay flexed and poiting to the front. Toe of club should be pointing to the sky.

Top of Backswing
A correct position is achieved by swinging the left arm and hand. The right arm is passive but supportive. Shoulders should be fully turned 90 degrees and hips turned 45 degrees. The knees stay flexed with weight in the feet. Balance and body position / height should be maintained. Downward resistance powers the hands.

Downswing
The hands initiate the downswing which makes the body respond. The angle of the backswing is maintained through the downswing, allowing the club to be released just prior to impact, thus club head speed is created through the ball.

Impact Position
The club returns square to the target and is now able to extend forward along the intended line of flight. Note the shoulder line should be parallel to the club line just as in the setup but the hip is open. This creates space to allow us to swing through to our finish.

Extension Through Ball
The weight is transferred to our target side through the hip and foot action, this allows the arms, hands and club to be swung through the ball towards our target generating prolonged contact and most importantly the direction. Note the head remains still looking at the point where the ball was to allow backward resistance.

The Follow Through
The follow through tells us what has gone before. If we finish the swing in the correct position and are poised and balanced facing the target then we have completed the swing with a consistent flowing movement which must be repeated until it becomes automatic.

Many golfers practice a great deal, and still never achieve the swing that they want to possess. If this sounds like you, you may benefit from golf swing aids. There are many golf swing aids on the market today that will help you greatly improve your swing – in less time in most cases. Choosing the gold swing aids that are right for you, however, often presents a challenge.

One of the most popular golf swing aids in existence today is the launch monitor. These are showing up in more and more pro shops across the country and in other countries as well. These takes data from your golf swing to determine what club or clubs are best for you at certain distances, and even tell you how much spin you are putting on the ball. Personal renditions of these launch monitors are also available, and experts agree that the personal monitors are just as powerful as the more expensive ones used in the pro shops – but golfers need to learn how to operate them properly for best results.

Another useful golf swing aid is the golf swing speed monitor. This little box sits on the ground directly across from you, with the ball in the middle. It should sit about six to eight inches away from the ball. It measures the speed of your swing. Increasing swing speed is vital if you want to improve your long game, and this little gadget can help you do just that, by telling you whether your swing speed exercises are doing any good. Training clubs, which are much heavier than your regular clubs, are also good for swing speed increases. They also help build strength and range of motion.

Golf training clubs and elbow braces are also great aids. These help to train you not to break your wrists when swinging, and to keep your form with your elbows during the swing as well. There are also lots of different training clubs available to help with specific problems, such as slices, and plane devices designed to help you improve your swing plane. There are even mats that are designed to help you line up your shot for an improved game! If you can imagine it, it exists!

There are swing aids available for any swing problem that you can imagine. But do they all work? Well, some work for some people, others work for other people, and some don’t work for any people at all. Before rushing out to buy brand new training equipment, slow down and do your research. Talk to other golfers to find out what training equipment they have used, and what results they had with that equipment. Look for used equipment, and if it is reasonable, buy it and give it a try. You should also consider going in with some friends to purchase some training equipment that can be shared by a group.

Training aids are easy to find – both online and offline – but again, not all training equipment is right for you. Talk to a golf pro to find out what equipment you should consider, based on your skill level, and the specific problems you are having. Be careful – if the golf pro you are talking to owns the shop you are standing in – he is a salesman first, and a golf pro trying to help you improve your game second! Talk to other golfers before making a high ticket purchase!

The best information on the training equipment that is available will be found in online forums where golfers hang out – and on the course where golfers also hang out. You can look for customer reviews, but they may not be accurate – or even real. Talk to the real golfers who have really used the products to find out which golf swing aids are most likely to help you. Most golfers are very happy to help each other out with tips and advice – you just have to be willing to take it! Some golfers are a bit more stubborn and a bit more traditional – they don’t want to allow technology to enter into the game of golf. Most of the golf swing aids you will find do represent technology – but if this doesn’t bother you, you should definitely take advantage of what’s out there!

Most golfers have difficulty executing a good golf swing. If you are one of those that belong to the 99.9% that makes nasty swings, I offer you some golf tips, as there are a number of possible reasons for this.To help you remedy some of these problems, this article offers some golf tips for specific difficulties experienced by novice and average players. However, what if you are playing a lot but cannot improve your strokes or hits? Take this golf tip, it is best for you to go back to the fundamentals of the sport. Most problems start from improper stance and grip. Identify the strokes that cause you the most problems and focus on improving those strokes. Check your tempo. A good golfer has proper coordination of the moving parts of the body. Speed and timing are also important factors for a good shot. See to it that you are not too anxious while hitting the ball. When you miss, then try again, this time relax yourself.Once your stance, grip, and timing are corrected, you will see an improvement in your golf swing. In addition to the above, other factors need to be considered and corrected to improve your golf swing. One of the scariest problems in golf is when the ball crazily turns to either the right or left. This is due to misalignment in the body and the swing plane. To alleviate this problem, do not stand to too close to the ball and shift your weight on your heels. When hitting the ball, avoid swaying your body. Any unnecessary movements may result to incorrect shots. It is but natural to move your body during stroking, but minimize side-to-side movements. Keep your feet together while hitting the ball as this will minimize body movement. Also, consciously shift your weight, trying to keep your weight in your heels. Keep a constant pace on hitting the ball, don’t decelerate as you make the down swing. Be wary of hitting the ground before the ball, this is called “fat shots” that may lead to injuries.Do you have bad games because you often push or pull the ball? Then check the distance of the ball and your stance. Make sure that your body is parallel to the target line. For pulling shots, ensure your self of enough coils while making your back swing.Avoid looking up while hitting the ball, again focus on your hit. See to it that you do not take your eyes away from the ball until it disappears after a shot. Do not be anxious as to where your ball will go. Many golfers say that this is their number one mistake.Other golf tips are:? Learn to relax your body, and always make a full turn. Do not swing at the ball, swing through it.? Too steep a swing path may often smash you tees into the ground. Do not allow your hands to get far ahead of the club head when attempting to make a hit. Also, make your shallow swing constant and back swing, shallow. The game of golf can be an enjoyable sport for the whole family. With a bit of practice and patience anyone can learn the game. For more information about improving your golf swing or even a golf travel vacation, visit http://www.golfswinganswers.com and http://www.golftravelanswers.com

A golf driver swing that is lacking in power has a couple of issues that need to be addressed. A golf driver swing is slightly different than your other clubs…but needs to have the same sequence of motion and body position at impact to produce more power and distance of the tee.

Most golfers swing outside their physical capabilities resulting in lost yardage and accuracy.

Has this ever happened to you?

You step up on a long par 4 or a par 5 and tell yourself you?re going to get their in two. What did you do differently on the tee to achieve it? Did you swing harder? If so, what was your result?

The first issue to cover with your golf driver swing is your range of motion, especially on your backswing. Can you make a 90 degree shoulder turn with minimal tension? Most older golfers don?t even come close.

The optimal position is a 90 degree shoulder turn, with approximately 45 degrees of hip turn. This requires a high level of core strength and flexibility. Shoulder flexibility comes into play just a bit also.

If you can?t get to this position, it doesn?t matter how hard you swing?you?re still not going to maximize your power and distance with your driver. Trying to get to that position when you body cannot physically get there will only cause muscle tension, which slows clubhead speed.

Secondly, getting behind the ball and staying behind the ball at impact is critically to maximizing power and distance. This cannot be achieved with an ?out-of-shape? body. It?s a physically impossibility.

Even for a fit golfer, this is sometimes hard to accomplish on a consistent basis.

On the downswing, it is critical the first move is with the lower body rotating (not sliding). This rotation of the lower body, while the upper body stays back (for only a split second) takes a ton of core strength.

A weaker golfer would not be able to achieve this. He/she would come over the top early with the upper body, merely because they don?t have core strength to initiate the downswing with the lower body.

So how do you achieve a golf driver swing with maximum power?

Start working on your core strength and flexibility from a rotational standpoint, with a golf weight training and golf stretching routine. Every exercise and stretch you do should incorporate rotational movements. The primary movement in the golf swing is rotational, so why wouldn’t you focus on that in your golf training program?

This is the quickest way to longer drives!

Hitting more balls with the same body and the same swing won?t get you there!

You?ve got to address the physical component to achieve the mechanical efficiency with your driver.

As soon as you do, you?ll be blowing by the other players in your foursome!

This IS the approach you should take with your golf driver swing.

Different types of core exercises exist. Many of you are probably familiar with an exercise such as the sit-up, which is a great exercise that can be utilized to train the core. If you have read any of our other articles, you are well aware of what the word core means, and its relation to the golf swing. Let us do a quick review for your benefit, and introduce the types of core exercises to perform for your golf swing.

The core is an anatomical region of the body. It can generally be defined as the part of your body between the hips and chest. It in encompasses many muscles groups on the front, side, and backside of the body. In general the core consists of the muscles that make up your; abdominals, lower back, obliques, and hips.

The core region is important to the golf swing for many reasons. The core is essentially called the engine of the body. It is the area that drives the body for most any human movement, including your golf swing. It is primarily responsible for the capacities of: balance, stability, and power development within the body. For these capacities to occur efficiently it is necessary to train the core for improved performances.

Core Training Concepts

Many of us correlate core training to only the abdominal section of the body. In order to develop the core correctly for the golf swing, we must train all areas of the core equally. This means to address the obliques, hips, and lower back with the same number of exercises and repetitions as you do for the commonly trained abdominal region.

A quick note from experience: More times than none, the majority of individuals have what are termed imbalances in the core region. This statement means that certain muscles or muscle groups are weaker than others. The key for optimal performance in golf is to have a balanced core when it comes to the strength, endurance, and power levels in the muscles within this area of the body. Keeping this thought in mind, many times the lower back region is weaker than the abdominals (imbalanced core or not balance core as we like to say). If this is the case, additional attention/exercises are needed for the lower back, to bring it up to speed so to speak, in level with the abdominals.

Moving forward, knowing that we must train the entire core and create balance between all the muscles. It is time to discuss what type of exercises to utilize in training the core region. To develop the core region for golf you will want to perform exercises in the following categories: stability (balance), strength, endurance, and power. All four of these categories are necessary for an optimal swing. Leaving one of the categories listed above out of your training program is like building a boat with a hole in it. It wont work!

Let us define the differing training categories of a golf specific core program to help you better understand the purpose behind each category. The categories of core training are incorporated in golf training are: 1) Stability (balance) training, 2) strength training, 3) endurance training, and 4) power training.

Stabilization exercises are exercises that develop the balance capabilities of the body. A large portion of your balance capability is directly related to the core region of the body. We know that if you are unable to maintain your balance through out the golf swing. The efficiency of the swing, contact with the ball, and club head speed, will be compromised. For example, when you swing your driver and are not able to maintain that perfect finished position, the problem may be related to you ability to balance.

Balance training develops the integration of your neural and muscular systems. Improvement in the functioning of these two systems of the body and integration of these two systems will result in a better swing. Follow the logic and it will all make sense. If you improve the ability of your body to balance, then the ability to maintain balance within your golf swing will become easier. Implementation of exercises into your core program that improve your balance (stabilization) capacities then a direct transfer into your golf swing will result.

The golf swing requires that certain body parts remain in a stable position, while other body parts are moving. These actions occur simultaneously. To perform a powerful golf swing, the body must have the capacities to perform this action.

In order to perform the above activity it is required to develop the strength parameters of the core. If you have a weak core then the ability to maintain a posture, keep a posture, and perform this over a period of time will be compromised. To repeat, the core region of the body is involved in the stabilization process of the body. To improve this capacity, we must train the body to be more efficient at stabilizing itself during the golf swing. Strength exercises develop and improve this capacity within your body for the purpose of improving your golf swing.

The golf swing is a repetitive movement performed by the body. You are doing the same activity over and over. An efficient golf swing and good scores require that you perform the same swing on the 18th hole as you do on the 1st hole. If you are unable to repeat your swing mechanics of your swing will suffer, as will your scores. To eliminate this situation it is necessary to develop the endurance capacities of the core region. Endurance exercises allow the body to perform the same activity over and over without getting fatigued. As a result of the golf swing being a repetitive athletic movement, endurance training will enhance the ability to maintain your optimal swing mechanics over an extended period of time.

Power Exercises are geared towards improving the power outputs of the body. The core region of the body is directly related to torque development in the golf swing. Power can also be defined as torque (rotational power) when discussing the golf swing. In order to create high amounts of club head, it is required of the body to create large amounts of torque. Creating greater power in the golf swing is the result of inputting power exercises into a comprehensive core training program.

Summary

In this article we have describe the core and how to train the core specifically for the improvement of your golf game. A few points to keep in mind from this article: 1) the core is a region of the body that includes all muscles from your hips to your chest, 2) you must develop the capacities of stability, strength, endurance, and power within the core for a benefit in your game, and 3) the development of the core must be balanced in terms of all muscles involved, and in all the training components (equal amounts of stability, strength, endurance, and power) within the core.
A Better Golf Swing Is Inevitable Mike PedersenA better golf swing is inevitablefor any golfer, with the right approach. It doesnt matter age or ability. Its a realityand can happen very quickly!

To achieve a better golf swing, a golfer needs to realize just how physically demanding it is on the human body. You are swing an object (golf club) at up to 100 mph. This puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the joints, tendons, ligaments and muscles.

If these tissues of the body are weak, tight or brittle they will rupture and eliminate you from playing golf indefinitely. If it doesnt, your performance will pay the price. The outcome either way is not what you wantbut will happen without an emphasis on strengthening these areas.

Along with strengthening comes stretching. Stretching muscles to attain a better golf swing is common among most golfers. Although it is common, most golfers dont stretch. Why? Because it is viewed as work. But if it were viewed as a form of golf improvement it would be a different story.

Swing mechanics cannot be improved if your golf specific strength and flexibility are ignored. It is an impossibility, unless you compensate for this lack of capabilities in your golf swing. Teaching pros are now starting to realize there is a definite connection between golf swing mechanics and fitness.

But thats where the BIG gap is. Between instruction and physical fitness. This is the ultimate combination for total golf performance and I have been preaching it for several years now. When your physical capabilities are improved, your golf swing mechanics become much easier to achieve.

The next time you visit your teaching pro, to achieve a better golf swing, youll be able to do what he/she wants and the desired outcome will be achieved. This outcome is inevitable when you get your body moving better. Your golf swing mechanics fall into place.

It will only be a matter of time when all golfers will approach their golf improvement this way. Its the only way that will warrant lasting results and ultimately a better golf swing.

The Secret To A Better Golf Game Mike PedersenA better golf game is achievable by any golfer. It doesnt matter what your age is, how good a player you are or how long youve been playing. But the key to a better golf game may not be what you think.

The standard approach to a better golf game is taking lessons; buying more equipment; and hitting hundreds of golf balls at the range.

Although, the above approach is not altogether incorrectthere is one crucial missing element. That element is your BODY! You swing those fancy clubs; you hit all those balls at the range; and you physically participate in the aspect of taking lessons.

The common denominator is your body. Do you agree? If you dont, Id like to hear youre explanation of why not.

If you are following me, and think Im remotely correct, then why wouldnt you work on your body to play a better golf game?

Im constantly hearing golfers say theyve taken lessons, bought new equipment and pounded hundreds of balls but still have not seen improvement.

Thats the telltale!

That leaves just one thingYOU.

Dont get me wrongI firmly believe you need an understanding of golf swing technique, and golf equipment can help. But pounding balls just for the sake of doing it wont help you play a better golf game.

Now picture this.

You do a few simple stretches and golf exercises daily and go out to play. You now realize you can make a bigger backswing with less tension; you have more clubhead speed enabling you to hit longer drives; and you are not worn out on the back nine.

Isnt that worth the minimal investment in your time?

To play a better golf gameyouve got to take a different approach than what you are currently doing. One that gets to the root of the problem. The one thats causing those mishits and inconsistencies.

You will be amazed at your outcome if you take this approach. You will finally play a better golf game.

Golf Exercise Benefits Mike PedersenGolf exercise benefits are many. Golfers have struggled for years with their games and have become very frustrated. I cant tell you how many times I play with golfers who are about to quit the game.

To explain golf exercise benefits to a golfer takes a little convincing, but in a short amount of time they become believers. There are so many I cant possible list them all in this article, but you will be motivated to take this approach.

Some of the main golf exercise benefits are; improved power for longer drives; dramatically improved stability for better consistency; a body that moves freer, removing tension from the swing; more energy for 18 holes; elimination of injuries; weight loss; improved concentration due to a reduction in fatigue; I could go on-and-on.

Improved Power For Longer Drives

If your body is weak and inflexible you will not be able to achieve optimal swing mechanics. Such things as a full shoulder turn, with minimal hip rotation; creating and retaining torque (energy) in your core for maximum clubhead spead; proper sequence of motion with muscles firing at the appropriate time; being able to swing just a little harder on long par 5s and still be in control.

Removing Tension From The Swing

When you improve your flexibility (range of motion specific to your golf swing) you are able to make a full backswing with no tension in the supporting muscles of the swing. Like the shoulders, lower back, upper back (lats), and even the wrists. It is known in most athletics that less tension equals more power.

More Energy For 18 Holes

One of the biggest culprits of back nine blow-ups is loss of energy resulting in poor mental confidence and swing mechanics. I see this one all the time when I playgolfers who are out of shape and lack appropriate fuel intake and maintenance. Having energy for 18 holes builds tremendous confidence and a higher level of play.

Elimination Of Injuries

Golf injuries are prevalent among all amateur golfers, especially senior golfers. The golf swing is a damaging movement on the human body. Swinging a club between 80-100 mph in less than a second can be traumatic. Golfers who dont have an adequate level of golf strength and flexibility are susceptible to injury every time they swing the club. The lower back usually takes the brunt of the stress and strain. Then hips, knees, shoulders and even wrists. A stronger, more flexible golfer will avoid injuries indefinitely.

Weight Loss

I have worked with over 10,000 golfers via my online golf performance website and they all fill out an initial golf fitness profile. Since I review every one of them personally, I see how many of them have weight loss of 10-30 pounds as a goal. There are more overweight golfers on the course than fit ones. This is because golfers have not come to the conclusion the fitness plays a critical role in golf performance. Exercising will not only improve lean muscle, but melt fat away. To not only improve their golf, but lose weight is icing on the cake for any golfer.

Improved Concentration

How many times have you had a good score going into the back nine only to have a couple of blow-up holes that ruined your score? It happens all the time. Why? Because your body fatigues and your brain doesnt maintain a high enough level of concentration. The result is poor club selection; swing mechanics and diminishing confidence. A fitter golfer will always have the edge over an out-of-shape one. When the round progresses and tension creeps in they will prevail every time.

The above are only a few golf exercise benefitsbut enough to hopefully convince you that its worth looking into. The golf swing is now being viewed as a very athletic movement, like baseball, tennis, etcand should be approached from a conditioning emphasis. I hope you now realize the return on investment from these golf exercise benefits.

7 Step By Step Golf Swing

1. Whether you are using a driver or an iron, make sure your setup posture is absolutely correct!

Feet shoulder width apart with a 5 iron – the front foot flared out towards the target about 20 degrees, and the back foot is “square”. The Upper half of the body should be bent over enough to let your arms hang naturally down from your shoulders.

With your setup the key is to get into a stable and relaxed position.

2. Bend your knees at a slight decrease, where it will give you some flexibility.

3. At stance position, your elbows and arms should be as close together as possible – right elbow pointing directly at the right hip, and the left elbow pointing at the left hip.

4. Ball position – Play your short irons with the ball positioned in the center, middle irons an inch forward and the long irons another inch forward. Ball positioning can make a big difference to your golf impact.

5. At the top of proper back-swing, your left heel should lift slightly off the ground (for a right hander) – unless you are very flexible, in which a full turn is without this. At the top of the back-swing, your left arm should be fairly straight.

6. From the top, start down by pushing off your right foot – with your weight left, turn your hips through, making way for your arms to swing through impact.

7. Good iron contact comes from a descending strike. To hit down on the ball, your weight has to be moving forward to the target.

Step By Step Golf Swing It looks easy, doesn’t it? Pros like Tiger Woods make it look like their doing nothing more than breathing. But, actually, their hitting that ball with the same kind of force a boxer uses when he smashes the other guy in the jaw.

Learning how to make a golf swing is intimidating, but it just takes a little analysis and practice. Here’s the step by step golf swing, all laid out so it’s easy to see…

The Address

The address is your basic set-up before you make the swing. The address is just important, if not more, than the actual swing itself.

One important thing to remember is to keep your head up and your eyes open. Too often beginners don’t look around them and hunch over the ball.

Think of your head as a pivot, and let your shoulders and back swivel easily around, keeping your head in the same position. This should help you when you make your swing.

Keep your eyes on where you want the ball to go. Some golfers find it helps them to first visualize the ball making that hole.

The Takeaway

The takeaway is when you pull back to make your swing. When you do your takeaway, your shoulders, back, hips and arms should swing back in one, nice, fluid movement.

As you swing back, shift your weight from your front to your back foot. Don’t pick up the club; swing it back naturally.

Don’t rush it. Your body is like a spring, winding up to make that shot. Winding up quickly won’t help you make a longer or more accurate shot. In fact, it will do more harm than good. Slow and steady gets the job done.

The club face should be about 90 degrees from the ground. The tip should be pointing upwards.

The Backswing

This is really a continuation of the takeaway, but this is where your shoulders really come into play. Imagine that spring winding up. Now, you should keep your arms swinging in that natural motion as the club goes behind you.

You should be turned so that your back is now facing your target. Your shoulders should be facing the ball squarely. Almost all of your body’s weight should be on your back foot.

At this point, the spring should have its maximum potential energy. You should be ready to swing!

The Impact

Don’t slow down as you approach the ball. This is a mistake lots of beginners make. Hit the ball with your full force, and open up your shoulders when it strikes.

The swing should be a natural, fluid movement. Let the spring unwind naturally. Don’t force it down.

The Follow-Through

After you’re done swinging, your chest should now be facing your target. Imagine yourself throwing the club toward the target. This will help you make a good follow-through and, if done right, it will help your swing.
